The Little Things Mean the Most to Her

The little things mean the most to her.....

My sweet little 8 year old LOVES receiving special notes in her lunch bag at school. Who are those love notes from? ME, of course! When school started this year I made it a point to include a love note for her in her bag. I write one every day. Things I include are notes that say how much I love her, how awesome she is, God loves her, be a reflection of Jesus to her friends, and to be Love, and other things. I sometimes make her a cute card. She absolutely loves them. I love making them for her. I can not go a day with out it because she is sure to remind me about the note! Even if I do forget (which is very rare) I will get a note done for her right before she walks out the door with dad.

Jessy isn't about all the big things like expensive toys or clothes, or the fancy things other kids may have. But, she is ALL about the LOVE we have for her! You know what? I am ALL about the love for her too.

How do you show your children you love them besides the store bought items? What is a special thing you two share? Is it a special bed time book, a trip to the ice cream shoppe for mom and me time, or do you include love notes as well? What ever it is, remember it doesn't have to be anything costly, and it should always be something from your heart.

Blessings,

Patty

Hide and Seek

Your Word I have hidden in my heart that I  might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11

"Honey, have you seen my leopard high heels?" That is a question that is heard often on a Sunday morning. I know, leopard high heels on a Sunday morning? Yes, why not? Sunday mornings are usually my only time to get dressed up. I love dressing up for Jesus! I always ask that question because my sweet little fashionista's are always using them for their dress up time. I hardly ever wear those heels because well, they just don't look right with anything else. "Honey, have you seen my purse?" Oh goodness, that is another question you hear around the house almost every other day. And don't get me started on the keys to the car! Mr. Garcia LOVES that one. :) Especially when we are late to get somewhere and I had them last!

Do you love playing hide and seek with your little one? Do you find it gets easier time after time when you play with them? I think it gets easier because we become familiar with where their favorite hiding places are. I mean the minute we say "ready or not" we are so serious about finding them. I love it when my little one finds me after the 30th time of seeking for me because that tells me she has learned my ways.

That reminds me of the hide and seek game we play with God 's word. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You will seek me AND find me when you search for me with ALL of your heart." God wants us to seek him because he knows when we do we will find him. A great example of this would be David. The bible says that David was known for being a man after God's heart. Did he find God? Yes. Absolutely. No question. But how? By spending time with him.

This leads me to Psalm 119:11. I have hidden His word in my heart. What does that mean? I think it means the same thing as a game of hide and seek with our children. I read his word constantly. I read his word every day. I get in there and seek it out. Some days I read to study. Other days I read on a mission to find a specific thing. Other days I read to get lost (kind of like reading my love letter from Jesus). All the while I am reading to FIND Jesus! To chase after Him! It all comes down to this, I pursue Jesus and He pursues me! I find Jesus every time I seek him.

After spending time with the Lord in his Word it then becomes a part of me, hidden in my heart. It is there any time and any where I need it to show up. I may not always have the long periods of time to read his word, but I always have access to it when it is in my heart.

May you always have his Word hidden in your heart. I can't wait for you to experience the part of Jesus finding you as you seek for Him. It is pretty amazing!

So, here are a few things I do that lead me to finding Jesus. I hope this helps you in your mission.

1. The Bible- A.K.A. the Word
It has everything I need. It has all the answers I need. It is my instructions to life.
2. Prayer- my lifeline to Jesus
I pray to Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life.
3. Worship- This for me is everything I am mentioning, but I absolutely love to be lost in my worship music. I would rather choose this music over anything else. It pumps me up about how awesome God is.
4. Loving others- I do good because God is good. I love others because it gives them an opportunity to see Jesus.
5. Give- we give because God gave. Again, this shows them Jesus.
6. Church- there is no doubt in my mind.... I am going to church! Be a part of your church. Serve in your church. Give to your church. God is there!
7. My family time- God designed the family to love Him. I teach my girls to love Jesus. We spend time with Jesus together.

Remember, when we hide his word in our hearts we have the power to not sin. We aren't perfect, but God sure is! He will give us what we need to live a life that is beautiful and full of His love!

Blessings,
Patty

My Cluttered Purse is....

Hi everyone! My name is Patty. I am a 31 year old mother of 2 and a wifey to an absolute amazing husband.  I have created My Cluttered Purse with the desire to create a place where women can take a time out from this crazy world and relax. My heart is to open up our purse a.k.a. our life and empty out the things that "clutter" our hopes, dreams, family, and most important our relationship with Jesus.

In today's world we have at some point or another got caught up in the mix of being perfect, doing everything for everyone, or becoming someone we are not whether that was a type of mom, friend, wife, or woman. There are too many people out there in the world telling us or showing us who we are supposed to be like and look like. I don't know about you, but I am pretty tired of all that junk. I don't need a magazine, a mom show, a sexy book, or a pin board to tell me how my life is supposed to be like anymore. I am by far not at all perfect nor claim to be, and I know that I have not arrived at the perfect place either in my life. I do know of a perfect God and a loving Savior who wants to guide me in this incredible journey of mine. I love checking out the latest styles, books, movies, and all the other fun stuff we have access to, but I choose not to let those things decide what kind of life I am going to live. I choose God's Word. I choose to read His Word. What does God want for me? He wants peace, comfort, joy, love, and so much more that brings life to me and my family.

I want to be that person who helps you find you again. I want to be a part of your journey. Lets de-clutter our lives together in the way that is best for each one of us. I call this page My Cluttered Purse because as you know already, all or most of our purses are so full of the things we need, want, or don't even have a clue its in there things. Right? There are days I find a bundle of Buddy Bucks from the local grocery store in my shoulder strap bag. I have found so many little Oriental Trading prizes in there, too. MY purse! And, of course, there are those times I don't find what I need. That sounds a lot like my life, cluttered in some areas. Some days are full, full of activities that don't need to be going on. And, some days they lack in the areas that are most important.

Where ever you are in life right now I know God wants us to be better. We always should be improving our life not just for ourselves but for those around us as well.

Thank you for joining me. I look forward to where God takes us together.

Hugs to you all,

Patty Garcia
